What is EBOO Therapy?
EBOO stands for Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation. During treatment, a portion of your blood is gently circulated outside the body through a closed, sterile system. It is filtered, briefly exposed to a controlled amount of medical-grade ozone, and then returned back to the body through a separate IV line.
Unlike a standard ozone IV, EBOO allows a larger volume of blood to be treated through continuous circulation.

Who may benefit from EBOO?
Every patient is unique. Following a comprehensive medical consultation, your provider may recommend EBOO as part of a personalized treatment plan based on your health history, current concerns, and wellness goals.
EBOO may be considered for patients seeking additional support in the following areas:
-
For individuals navigating long-standing or multifactorial health challenges who may benefit from a comprehensive, systems-based approach to care.
-
For those looking to support healthy immune function and the body's natural inflammatory response.
-
For patients seeking to support the body's natural detoxification pathways and resilience to environmental stressors.
-
For individuals experiencing fatigue, slower recovery, or increased physical or cognitive demands who want to optimize resilience and vitality.
-
For those focused on supporting cellular health, healthy aging, and long-term wellness through proactive, physician-guided care.
Medical Eligibility
EBOO therapy begins with a comprehensive medical consultation and evaluation to determine whether treatment is appropriate for your individual health history, goals, and clinical needs. Because EBOO is an advanced medical therapy, not all patients may be candidates.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
EBOO stands for Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation. During treatment, a portion of your blood continuously circulates through a closed, sterile system where it is filtered and exposed to a precise combination of medical oxygen and ozone before being returned to your body.
This process is designed to support healthy blood and circulation, cellular function, detoxification pathways, and the body’s natural recovery processes. At Kona Health & Aesthetics, every EBOO treatment begins with a medical consultation and a personalized, physician-guided protocol.
-
People often explore EBOO therapy to support:
Healthy circulation and oxygen utilization
Cellular energy and recovery
Immune and inflammatory balance
The body’s natural detoxification pathways
Resilience following illness or prolonged stress
Proactive wellness and healthy aging
The potential benefits of EBOO can vary from person to person. Your overall health, symptoms, deeper contributing factors, and treatment plan can all influence your experience.
-
Patients often begin researching EBOO while looking for additional support with chronic fatigue, brain fog, inflammation, slow recovery, environmental exposures, Long COVID, post-viral symptoms, and complex or chronic health concerns.
Because these symptoms can have many possible causes, EBOO is not automatically the right treatment for everyone experiencing them. At KHA, we look beyond the symptom itself to understand the bigger picture and explore the deeper factors that may be affecting how you feel. From there, we can determine whether EBOO may have a meaningful place within your personalized healthcare plan.
-
Every patient’s experience with EBOO is different. Some patients report feeling more energized, mentally clear, resilient, or better able to recover, while others notice more gradual changes over a physician-guided series.
Because concerns like fatigue, brain fog, and inflammation rarely have one simple cause, KHA does not position EBOO as a quick fix. We look at the deeper factors influencing how you feel and consider EBOO within a broader, personalized care plan. Your provider will help you understand what results may be realistic based on your health history, goals, and response to treatment.
-
Some patients explore EBOO for concerns such as lingering post-COVID symptoms, chronic fatigue, brain fog, body aches, reduced stamina, disrupted sleep, or simply not feeling like themselves again.
These symptoms may be influenced by sleep, stress, nutrient status, hormones, post-viral illness, immune function, inflammation, and other deeper contributors. Early research into systemic ozone therapy has shown promising findings for certain post-COVID concerns.
-
EBOO circulates a portion of your blood through an advanced extracorporeal filtration system while supporting the body’s natural detoxification pathways. This may make it a relevant option for patients exploring support for environmental exposures, mold-related concerns, toxin burden, or complex chronic symptoms.
At KHA, detoxification is approached as a whole-body process. Your provider may also consider nutrition, hydration, potential exposures, liver and kidney function, and other factors that influence how your body processes and eliminates unwanted substances. EBOO can then be thoughtfully incorporated into a broader, personalized plan based on your individual needs.
-
Both EBOO and traditional ozone therapy use a carefully controlled combination of medical oxygen and ozone, but the process is different.
With traditional IV ozone therapy, a smaller amount of blood is collected, combined with the oxygen–ozone mixture, and then returned to your body. EBOO continuously circulates a larger volume of blood through a closed filtration and oxygenation system during treatment.
Your provider can explain the differences and help determine which approach may be better suited to your health needs and goals.
-
The EBOO procedure typically takes approximately 60 minutes, although your full appointment may take a little longer to allow time for preparation, IV placement, monitoring, and recovery.
At KHA, your experience includes:
A consultation and physician-guided protocol
Treatment with our certified EBOO nursing team
Advanced Stratos EBOO technology
A Pre & Post Care Kit
A 100 cc Replenish Infusion
Clear preparation and recovery guidance
Some patients feel refreshed or energized afterward, while others prefer to rest. Your experience may vary based on your overall health, hydration, nutrition, and reason for receiving treatment.
-
At KHA, we typically recommend a series of three to five EBOO treatments, with five often preferred for patients seeking the most meaningful experience. EBOO is designed to provide cumulative support, so changes may become more noticeable as you move through a consistent series rather than after one session alone.
Your provider will ultimately recommend the number and frequency of treatments based on your health history, goals, and response along the way.
-
EBOO is not typically covered by insurance. More broadly, KHA does not operate under traditional insurance models because we believe your healthcare should be guided by your individual needs—not dictated by insurance policies or limited by what a plan is willing to cover.
This gives our providers the time and flexibility to look at the bigger picture, explore deeper contributing factors, and develop the highly personalized care our patients are seeking. Our team will always review the recommended plan and associated costs with you before treatment begins.
